BINTULU: State Information Department (JaPen) director Suwadi Guliling flagged-off the Jalur Gemilang convoy at JaPen Bintulu compound in celebration of National Month.

The event took place on Friday (Aug 27) with six vehicles decorated with the Jalur Gemilang while playing patriotic songs.

Suwadi said the convoy had travelled to several areas in Sarawak from Kuching to Sri Aman, Sibu, Mukah, Dalat, Oya, and Balingian with Bintulu as its eighth destination; covering a distance of approximately 700km in an effort to encourage the local community to participate in National Month.

“Although we will be celebrating National Day in the new normal, it is not an excuse for us to not do our best to enliven national month,” said Suwadi.

Also present were JaPen deputy director Aziz Abdul Rahman and chief assistant director, communication services and community development division, Roszilawati Nor Aziz.
