KUALA LUMPUR: The inclusion of several national junior players from the squad that won the Asia Youth Netball Championship in July will help Malaysia defend its gold medal in the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines in November.

National coach, Tracey Robinson said the combination of the aggressive young and skilful players and their seasoned teammates will bring fine balance to the squad.

“I am really happy with the composition of the squad because six or seven of the players actually went to the Asian Youth Netball Games and won.

So, we are in really good spot developmentally because we got young players coming through as well as experience players in the squad, so it’s a good balance,” she said at the Team Malaysia press conference at the National Sports Council (NSC) here Tuesday. – Bernama
