BATANG AI: The Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) recently organised a ‘gotong-royong’ programme near the longboat base at Batang Ai hydro dam here.
The programme kicked off at 8 am and saw active participation from the Ulu Sungai Lubok Antu area.
The main objective of the programme was to ensure cleanliness in the jetty area and emphasise the importance of preserving the pristine environment of the dam.
As part of the programme, SRB officials also conducted a briefing on safety measures to be followed during activities in the river.
This initiative by SRB aims to foster communal cooperation and prioritise safety within the local community while also creating awareness about cleanliness and safety in river transportation.
