Sri Aman Development Agency to implement 25 projects this year

SRI AMAN: A total of 25 projects will be implemented under the Sri Aman Development Agency (Sada) this year.

The decision was made during the second meeting of the Sada Steering Committee held at Wisma Sada recently.

In a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, Sada chairman Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said the projects included the implementation of basic infrastructure such as roads, bridges, drainage and irrigation systems, economic such as tourism, and social such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

She also listed a number of initiatives such as the Kejamut flood mitigation project, road upgrading of Guntong-Menalang, bridge construction in Kampung Beleti, Orang Utan Riverside Observatory in Batang Ai and Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) renovation works.

In order to speed up the construction and renovation of the PPKS campus in Sri Aman, the steering committee added an allocation of RM2mil, with the total cost of the project amounting to RM3.5mil.

“This will ensure that the renovation work goes smoothly and the project will be the first to be managed by Sada,” Rohani said.

In the same meeting, the steering committee also approved a new project, which is the installation of a Traffic Lights System, which will be implemented by the Public Works Department.

Present at the meeting were Sada deputy chairman Datuk Amar Jaul Samion; Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan; Lingga assemblywoman Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor, Sri Aman MP Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodie and others.
