KUCHING: Che Chuan Khor Moral Uplifting Society Sri Aman is preparing to organise Hungry Ghost Festival from August 14 until August 16 at Che Chuan Khor Hall there.

The Ghost Festival, also known as the Zhongyuan Festival is a traditional Taoist and Buddhist festival held in certain East Asian countries.

Regarded as the Ghost Month, the seventh month is where activities during the festival would include preparing ritualistic food offerings, burning incense, and burning joss paper as well as paper form of material items such as clothes, gold and other fine goods for the visiting spirits of the ancestors. 

There will be a procession on Monday Aug 15 at 6:30pm from the Che Chuan Khor premises with the walk to be conducted around the Simanggang town and then the procession will return to the Che Chuan Khor premises.
