KUCHING: St John Ambulance Sarawak will be holding an Open Day cum Charity Food Sale on August 28 from 8 am to noon at St. John Ambulance Sarawak Headquarters at Lorong Laksamana Cheng Ho, No. 8 here.
The aim of this event is to raise funds for the purchase of an ambulance and also acquaint the general public of the training services in first aid and home nursing given by the qualified trainers of the association to its members and staff of private companies and the general public.
These ambulances are being used for first aid coverage in joggerthons, walkatons, marathons, sport events of schools and private companies, public gatherings and for providing non-emergency ambulance services to bring patients from their homes to a hospital and from a hospital to the homes of patients.
Presently, there are two ambulances which are over 20 years old. They need to be replaced.

Those who need this non-emergency ambulance service can dial 016-8998999. The charge is RM10 per km. This non-emergency ambulance service is to complement the ambulance services provided by government and private hospitals.
Meanwhile, those who wish to donate money can bank in to St. John Ambulance Maybank at account no. 51195113909 and then proceed to send the bank receipt by WhatsApp to Thomas Yun, the Honorary Treasurer at 016-8706345.
If the donor needs a tax-free receipt, the donor must give his or her identity card number or his or her company’s registration number.
