KUCHING: Stadium Perpaduan was flocked with visitors who were eager to celebrate the New Year here as early as 7pm.

The whole area became lively with people from different races and religions who flocked the venue and were excited to welcome the arrival of the new year.

What’s more, the celebration was enlivened with various cultural and live music performances by popular national artistes, which entertained audiences before the scheduled fireworks display at 12 midnight.

A large screen was also provided outside the stadium for visitors who did not have the opportunity to go inside, so that everyone could watch the performances and activities.

Aside from the performances, there were also stalls selling food outside the stadium.

Furthermore, the celebration will also be graced by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who will arrive at the venue at about 10pm.

He will be joined by Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and others to usher in the new year.
