KUCHING: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak is lending a helping hand to distribute Kenyalang Gold Cards (KGCs) to applicants in the Stampin and Sentosa areas who have yet to receive their cards.

“We will put the list on our DAP Facebook so members of the public who are waiting for their KGC can check our website to confirm whether their card is with us,” said DAP Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen.

While DAP Sarawak members would be reaching out to these applicants and distributing KGCs, he said applicants could also contact their service centre at 7th Mile to expedite the process.

He shared that about a month ago, when one of his assistants visited the Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKMS) for a separate matter, an officer had informed him of a few hundred KGCs which had not been distributed yet.

“These KGCs were supposed to be distributed by the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), but after a few months or almost a year, they still could not finish distributing them,” he said during a press conference at DAP Sarawak Headquarters here today.

As such, he said the welfare officer had requested for their assistance to distribute the KGCs to awaiting applicants. He said they had received over 500 cards to be distributed.

He assured that DAP Sarawak would continue to assist in this matter.

He also noted that they were assisting with distributing KGCs to applicants in the Stampin area, but there were also other areas where SUPP had yet to deliver the cards to applicants.
