KUCHING: The ground sentiment in Kota Sentosa is seemingly warm and welcoming to GPS candidate for Stampin, Lo Khere Chiang, says Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin.

“He is, of course, a very familiar face with the locals as he has been vigorously serving the rakyat as a ‘working’ Council chairman.

“In my time with him in the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), we are accustomed to following him on the ground most of the time because he is a person who believes ‘seeing is believing’ and often he convenes impromptu meetings on site which we must go back and follow up and eventually report in the council meetings,” Yap said in a statement today (Nov 14).

Yap added that Lo is a hands-on assemblyman who will go to the source of the matter and find a solution from there, and typical of his engineering background, he is meticulous in his work ethic and pleasant as a team leader at the same time.

“That is probably the reason why people like him so much.

“The voters in Stampin will only benefit from YB Lo Khere Chiang because he is a man on a mission. He knows how much more he can do for Stampin and Sarawak should he be the choice on the 19th (polling day).

“However, we must not forget, a vote for GPS is a vote for Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and YB Lo is handpicked by the Premier to be in team GPS. So we must do our part and usher in a new era where Sarawak First is our collective mantra and Stampin will be represented by GPS,” Yap said.

He added that GPS goes into Parliament with a mission to secure one-third representation in Parliament for Sarawak and Sabah which, if achieved, will mean Sarawak will have a bigger voice.

“We will never be oppressed ever again because after doing this, no constitutional amendments can take place without the involvement of Sarawak and Sabah, thus cementing our place as one of three and not one of 13.

“We call upon the voters for the Stampin parliamentary area to take up this golden opportunity to send the biggest GPS team possible, the bigger the team the bigger is Sarawak’s voice and for that GPS must be the only choice in Stampin,” Yap said.
