KUCHING: Sarawak has achieved 80.6 per cent vaccination coverage for the entire population of the state as of April 26.

Sarawak State Health Department director Dr Ooi Choo Huck said that the second dose coverage for those aged 18 and above was at 91 percent.

“Meanwhile, the second dose coverage for adolescents aged 12 and 17 is at 93.1 percent,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He added that while the achievement of the first dose vaccination coverage for the population of children aged five to 11 years is at 79.7 per cent.

Dr Ooi also called upon those who had yet to receive their COVID-19 vaccination to do so immediately.

“For those who are eligible but have yet to receive the vaccine, please go to the nearest health clinic to get ite,” he said.

He reminded that the deadline for the administration of the first dose of vaccine under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) was on May 15.
