SARATOK: The Sarawak government always ensures the disbursement of land compensation to rightful owners.

Kalaka assemblyman, Mohamad Duri, said that it allows for the seamless implementation of critical infrastructure projects including road project stretching from Kampung Kupang to Simpang Bajau.

“A total of RM1,196,378.74 in compensation has been distributed for the project, benefiting 163 recipients across 275 land lots over a 16.5-kilometre stretch. This shows the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for the residents of Bajau and Kampung Kupang,” said Mohamad during the Land Compensation Handover Ceremony on Saturday.

Furthermore, he announced forthcoming construction of the Pakan Bridge as quicker access to the Saratok district.

In discussing broader development initiatives under the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA), Mohamad revealed plans for 18 high-impact projects within the Kalaka constituency, backed by an RM200 million allocation with projects including the upgrade of river embankments, repair of sluice gates, and the construction and refurbishment of agricultural roads.
