KUCHING: The
Sarawakku Sayang Special Aid Package has proven that the state government is
able to ‘walk the talk’ with the best interests of the people in mind.
In stating this,
Local Government and Housing assistant minister Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said the aid answered most
of the requests made by Sarawakians, especially in Marudi.
“The aid was
timely launched. The people are desperately in need of this considering the
effect of the Covid-19 outbreak in the state.
“Additionally,
the aid will also be able to solve some of the issues that have been voiced out
to me by the people of Marudi, especially from the B40 group, small business
owners, as well as hawkers and sellers,” Penguang told New Sarawak
Tribune, yesterday.
He said that no such
aid had been given by other state governments in the country and that the
public should take pride in the Sarawak government for taking the initiative to
provide for the people.

“The help given covered 16 measures with the state government bearing 100 percent of the cost. This has touched the hearts of many people,” he said.
Penguang urged those who eligible for the special aid to check with the departments and agencies which had been assigned to distribute the assistance.
“Any questions regarding the matter can be presented to the State Disaster Management Committee, Resident Offices, or District Offices,” he added.
