State government briefed on O&G project

KUCHING: The state government has been briefed on the progress of the feasibility study for the proposed integrated oil and gas (O&G) project in Lawas via video conference.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said in a statement today that the state government has been briefed by Beijing BECA Sci-Tech Co Ltd chairman Dong Chao and Sinopec Engineering Incorporated chief engineer Huo Hongwei.

“The state government will continue to facilitate investors wishing to invest in Sarawak,” said Awang Tengah, who is also the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development.

Also present were Assistant Minister of Industrial Development Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh; International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Ministry permanent secretary Datuk Liaw Soon Eng; Sarawak Energy Group chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Sharbini Suhaili; Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda) CEO Datuk Ismawi Ismuni; as well as senior officials from relevant departments and agencies.
