MIRI: Today’s launching of the Sarawak Rural Broadband Network (MYSRBN) in Long Terawan showed the state government led by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) was committed to bridging the rural-urban digital gap.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau added the establishment of MySRBN in a remote area like Long Terawan also showed that Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg walked the talk.

“Abang Jo delivered what he has promised to the rakyat, regardless how remote the locality of the place,” he said.

Although the population in the area was small due to rural-urban migration, the chief minister, Dennis added, was very much determined in bringing in telecommunication services to the people in Long Terawan.

“For the launching, Abang Johari flew from Kuching to Long Terawan and this showed how much he cared for the rural folks in this area,”said the assemblyman.

Dennis hoped that similar facilities or services would be expanded to his constituency, Telang Usan.
