JULAU: The state government is committed in implementing the Rural Electrification Scheme (RES) projects in the Meluan state constituency, said its assemblyman Rolland Duat Jubin.
He said this while attending a talk with Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) on indoor wiring and assisted wiring scheme (AWS) for Nanga Kemalih, Ulu Entabai areas.
“Together with SEB officials, we went to Rumah Sang, Rantau Chirey, Ulu Entabai to provide information on the indoor wiring for longhouses in Ulu Entabai.
“With the completion of this SEB project next month, it will provide convenience to the surrounding residents who have been waiting for electricity supply for a long time,” he said.
Rolland also had the opportunity to review the development of Phase of the RES project in Nanga Kakup and Melepong, Ulu Entabai with the SEB team led by Rural Electrification Department senior engineer Rofino Rantai.
He said only meter installation works remain in the two areas, and it is expected to be completed next month as well.
“Phase 3 of the RES project in the Ulu Kanowit area is also being implemented.
“I thank SEB for always being committed in making the RES projects under my constituency a success.”
Rolland also expressed his appreciation to the state government which is always concerned with the needs of the people, especially in rural areas.
