KUCHING: The state government will rebuild the house which was razed by fire in Kampung Nombor 6, Jalan Muhibbah here.

In pointing this out, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the appointed contractor would first inspect the site of the house before building a new and stronger foundation.

“We will liaise with the victims as well as the contractor to design and rebuild the house,” he said when met by reporters while visiting the fire victims on Saturday (Nov 27).

On Friday, the residence of the famous Cucur Kampung Nombor 6 was razed to the ground in what was believed to have been caused by faulty electrical works.

The plight of the 21 residents from the five families has also caught the attention of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok Division deputy chief Datuk Ibrahim Baki.

Ibrahim, accompanied by the Chief Minister’s political secretary Abdul Samad Gany, representatives of the Petra Jaya service centre and several local leaders (on Friday) had visited the fire victims to make immediate contributions.
