MIRI: The State Library has launched ‘BookBear’ — a free book borrowing delivery service for those residing within the city area which started from June 16.

According to a statement, the service was launched in support of the reading programmes and activities during this Covid-19 pandemic by delivering books to members of the public.

To utilise the service, members of the public would need to do the following steps. They must first download the Angka.sa2 application via Google Play or App Store. Once they have downloaded the application, they can log in using their SarawakID.  In the Angka.sa2 system, they can search for their desired books or access the library’s OPAC system to search for the book via https://pustaka.librarynet.com.my/Angka.sa2/pustaka/OpacBasicSearch.htm?mobile=true after they have made their selection, they can ‘share’ the selected books’ details to Pustaka’s WhatsApp number at +601158820533.

Members of the public are advised to indicate their name, address and preferred delivery or pick up time. Once they have done that, a notification will be sent to their WhatsApp.
