PUSA: Beting Maro assemblyman, Razaili Gapor has strongly disavow a social media report that cited Sarawakians are the poorest compared to people in other states, despite Sarawak being a wealthy state.

He stressed that the state leaders will always prioritise the development of Sarawak as a whole over any personal gains, demonstrating their commitment to assisting the people.

“Such propaganda aims to portray that the leaders of the Sarawak government prioritise themselves over the needs of the Sarawak people, and I strongly refute this statement because it is not the truth,” he said.

He said this while speaking at the Ihya Ramadan programme in Kampung Pusa on Tuesday.

Razaili reiterated that Sarawak’s recognition by the World Bank as a high-income state demonstrated the commitment of state leaders in assisting the people fairly.

“The Sarawak government provides necessary facilities to rural residents to reduce the development gap between rural and urban areas.

“There are various facilities and assistance provided to rural communities, especially in the Beting Maro area,” he explained.

He added that the construction of these facilities aimed to enhance economic development in Sarawak, particularly in rural areas.
