State records another three clusters

KUCHING: Sarawak today (Sept 21) recorded three new clusters, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

The first one, the Jalan P Ramlee Cluster, is a workplace cluster involving an occupant at the workers’ quarters of a construction company located at Jalan P Ramlee here.

“Of the 101 individuals who were tested for Covid-19, 70 including the index case were found positive while 31 negative.

“All positive cases were admitted to Sarawak General Hospital, Covid-19 quarantine and low-risk treatment centres (PKRC), and Covid-19 assessment centres (CAC) in Kuching,” said the committee.

The second cluster, the Pusat Kemuyang Timur Cluster, is an institution cluster where students and residents of an orphanage located at Lorong Kemuyang Timur, Jalan Kemuyang in Sibu were involved.

“Of the 85 individuals who were tested, 16 including the index case were found positive while 69 negative,” added SDMC.

The Batu 10 Jalan Oya Cluster, also an institution cluster in Sibu, involved residents and a visitor of a rehabilitation centre located at Batu 10, Jalan Oya.

Of the 82 individuals who were tested, 36 including the index case were found positive while 46 negative.

“All positive cases were admitted to Sibu Hospital, the CAC and PKRC in Sibu,” it said.

Meanwhile, the committee also announced the end of the Kampung Senari Cluster here after no new cases were recorded in the last 28 days.

To date, the state has recorded 140 active clusters whereby 11 of them registered additional 126 cases.
