State records seven deaths involving the elderly

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded seven Covid-19 facilities on Friday (June 18), all involving older patients, bringing the state’s death toll to 373.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said all seven cases were aged between 84 and 70 years and with various comorbidities.

It said the 367th death was a local man, aged 81 from Bintulu district, who had passed away in Bintulu Hospital. His Covid-19 swab test was detected positive on May 14. The case had comorbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, heart and liver disease.

The 368th death was an 82-year-old man from Bintulu district who passed away in Bintulu Hospital. He was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on June 2. The case had comorbidities such as hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and kidney disease.

The 369th death was a 76-year-old man from Tatau district. He was tested positive for Covid-19 on June 10 and had passed away in Bintulu Hospital. The case’s comorbidities were hypertension and chronic kidney disease.

The 370th death was a 70-year-old woman from Sibu district who passed away in Sibu Hospital. Her Covid-19 swab test was detected positive on June 16. The case’s comorbidities were hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes.

The 371st death was a 77-year-old man from Sibu district. The case, who had comorbidities of hypertension was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on May 30 and had passed away in Sibu Hospital.

The 372nd death was a 70-year-old man from Miri district who died in Miri Hospital. He was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on June 10. The case had comorbidities of hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes and heart disease.

The last reported case today was a 84-year-old woman from Sibu district who passed away in Sibu Hospital. Her Covid-19 swab test was detected positive on June 3. The case had diabetes, hypertension, gout, chronic kidney disease, heart disease as well as cancer.
