Converting conventional economy to digital economy

KUCHING: The Sarawak government has invited Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd to work with it in its mission to convert the state’s conventional economy to digital economy.

Serba Dinamik, according to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, can function in diverse sectors. As such he has welcomed the company to explore setting up hydrogen filling stations, modern agriculture, and digital infrastructure.

“The is now on digital economy and Serba Dinamik’s plan for the future is in line with that of the state,” he said at a press conference after the launch of ‘Sarawak Beyond Paradigm Summit 2019’ at Pullman Hotel, yesterday.

“I must congratulate Serba Dinamik for creating awareness of technology and the relationship between technology and community because these are important in our efforts to develop the state.”

He also thanked Serba Dinamik for organising the summit that gathered all the industry players and create awareness of the importance of technology and the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0).

“When the community knows about the importance of technology and its advancement, then the process involved in our economy will be more efficient and cost saving.

“Therefore, this summit is a very significant effort on the part of Serba Dinamik as a private sector player to chart its future using technology,” he said.

The summit was first held on July 17 and 18 in Kuala Lumpur and then in Kuching on July 20 and 21.

It was aimed at bringing together businesses working on IR4.0 solution and getting them to initiate ideas, discuss concepts as well as implement them.

The summit was attended by representatives from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), official partners Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Microsoft Malaysia Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak, Huawei, as well as technology partner TM One, and supported by Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA).
