KUCHING: The state government wants the federal government to come up with a formula for its special annual grants under Article 112D of the Federal Constitution.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the state has not received any grant as it is still waiting for the formula which should be based on the federal government’s revenue.

“My principle is if the country is doing well, we share the revenue based on some formula, and if the country is not doing well, we share the problem.

“We don’t want a situation where there is money but we don’t receive a proper share,” he said during Gedong’s Raya gathering at Raia Hotel here yesterday

Currently, the matter is still under negotiation and he is very firm in wanted such a formula to be fixed.

Recalling the rule of Pakatan Harapan government, he said he brought a formula proposal to the then Minister of Finance.
