KUCHING: Sarawak is capable of handling the mass vaccination centre operated by the Ministry of Health (MoH) thus far.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said this during his visit to the vaccination centre, Stadium Perpaduan here today.

He said that preparations needed to be done continuously at every MoH health facility.

He explained that this was to accommodate the possible effects of Covid-19 transmission and ensure that this can be controlled effectively.

On the vaccination of members of the media who are categorised as frontline personnel, Dr Adham informed that this will be implemented in the second phase.

From Feb 26 to Apr 3 this year, during Phase 1 of the vaccination programme, the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine was administered to 43,875 frontliners from various agencies in Sarawak.

Also present during the visit was Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and State Health Department (JKNS) director Dr Chin Zin Hing.
