KUCHING: The Subnational Statistics Book is an important reference for all assemblymen in the state to plan appropriate development in their constituencies.

In stating this, State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said through the information provided in the book, it will help the assemblymen to formulate strategies and approaches to help the people in their respective constituency.

“The information and statistics provided comes from the people themselves and to be used by every assemblyman to improve and facilitate their work,” Asfia was quoted saying in a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) news report during the handover ceremony of the Subnational Statistics Book to the state assemblymen at DUN Building today.

Asfia added that assemblyman plays a vital role in assisting the Member of Parliament in each respective constituency, especially with the upcoming general election.

He stressed that the statistics in the book are neutral in nature which do not favour any party in the state and it is up to each assemblyman to use and benefit from the book.
