MIRI: Ibans have been reminded to stay united so that their voice continue to be heard by the government.

“If we stand strong together under one roof, we can acquire everything we want,” said Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datu Dr Penguang Manggil.

“Make unity your priority, put aside your differences, enough with the formations of various kinds of Dayak-based associations when you can actually unite under one umbrella…emulate the spirit of the Orang Ulus in getting what they want through unity,” he said at Sarakup Induk Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Miri’s Ngiling Bidai programme here last Sunday (June 26).

“Forget about my political background, you may not like me today but the important thing is that we are united under one roof…work together with the state government…so please, think about it, because we need a ‘house’, we need a ‘place’ to further develop the Ibans,” he stressed.

At the event, the Marudi assemblyman also gave a grant of RM20,000 to Miri SIDS.
