STB hosts tourism experts to lunch

Date:

KUCHING: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) hosted the Pata Adventure Travel Conference and Mart (ATCM) 2020 delegates to lunch at the Magellan Sutera Resort, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah last Thursday.

This is the first time that the conference is hosted in the northern part of Borneo island.

“Sarawak does not want to miss the opportunity to be part of the event that brings industry practitioners from all over the world.

“Hence, it is very important for us to showcase what Sarawak has to offer to both local and international delegates,” said STB corporate services director Mary Wan Mering at the lunch session.

With a diverse line up of international experts, ATCM provides a perfect platform for travel trade professionals to gain insights into adventure travel trends and create more responsible tourism industry.

Sarawak will host the Pata Destination Marketing Forum (PDMF) 2020 on November 25 to 27 in Kuching.

The three-day event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Sarawak, STB and Sarawak Convention Bureau.

“We believe that PDMF 2020 will augur well towards the second phase of Visit Sarawak Campaign and Visit Malaysia Year 2020.

“It will also be a great platform for our tourism partners to participate in the forum and foster business partnerships with tourism professionals worldwide.

“Through PDMF 2020, we are able to showcase the different sides of Sarawak that are not found anywhere in the world and capture the hearts of those who have longed for a destination that is worth their money and time,” Wan added.

ATCM 2020 was hosted by Tourism Malaysia, supported by Sabah Tourism and Malaysia Airlines consisting of a one-day travel trade mart and one-day conference.

There were also sightseeing tours and social functions to facilitate networking and relationship building.
