KUCHING: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) charted another milestone with its online data management platform, STB InTel and e-learning platform with Lotus Voyager Group (LCG), which is a significant progress in elevating the tourism industry.

At the launching here on Tuesday (May 10), STB chief executive officer Sharzede Datuk Salleh Askor said this propels the industry towards digitalisation and holds out potential benefits such as increasing its capacity to enter new markets and further internationalise its operations.

“We are working very closely with our stakeholders and through our engagement sessions to better manage tourism today’s launching of STB InTel is a breakthrough moment as we move towards the future,” she said.

She said that STB InTel will serve as an important tool to give data access to its stakeholders to draw actionable conclusions, thus further improving their operations on the basis of analytics and number-driven data.

“We can now easily identify targeted groups of potential markets at every stage of their trip planning process,” she added.

Apart from the launch of the STB InTel, she said that STB is also happy to welcome partnering with LVG which is the world’s first learning management system for travel professionals that uses the latest innovation to bring educational content to the B2B travel professional.

“We believe that constant education can help to bridge the borders, hence this partnership is one of STB’s e-learning initiatives to provide training, information and product updates to international tour operators looking to promote Sarawak.”
She said that the partnership will be a good opportunity for them to plant seeds among potential travel agents who will be trained by the Sarawak Destination Course which will make a huge difference in promoting the state.

“Besides that, we want to also be proactive with our buyers. Leveraging on LVG’s e-learning platform for buyers and sellers to mingle and network with each other will be a beneficial tool for it to develop new strategic partnerships,” she said.
