MIRI: Petronas has launched the “50 Dream” programme to empower individuals throughout Malaysia to mark its 50th anniversary.
The initiative’s first recipient in Sarawak, Muhammad Nuzul Zulkarnain, 20, from Permyjaya, Miri, received a pair of customised shoes.
Nuzul is battling cerebral palsy, autism and hydrocephalus syndrome.
“This initiative targets eight recipients in Sarawak this year, to nurture dreams and aspirations within local communities,” said Petronas Sarawak general manager, Norazibah M Rabu.
The custom-made shoes have greatly improved Nuzul’s mobility, offering him newfound freedom and comfort. The shoes are designed to cater to his specific needs, providing stability and enhancing his ability to navigate his surroundings more easily.
His parents, Asfarina Asma Mohammad and Zulkarnain Zamhari, shared their joy and gratitude for the positive impact on their son’s life.
“The impact of Petronas’ thoughtful gesture reverberates through their daily lives, highlighting the transformative power of compassion and community support,” they said.
