KUCHING: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his Pakatan Harapan (PH) cohorts need to seriously stop playing the dangerous racial card in their political game.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) information chief Datuk Idris Buang said it was crystal clear there were many things that the present Federal government (Perikatan Nasional Plus Gabungan Parti Sarawak) under the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had done a lot for all Malaysians irrespective of race over the last four months.

“In particular, the federal government has helped us all sail through the stormy and dangerous sea of strong hurricanes of Covid-19, thus saving enormously our lives and our families,” he told New Sarawak Tribune on Sunday.

Idris was commenting on recent remarks by Anwar questioning what the PN administration had done since March to defend the Malays.

“It is unquestionably an excellent leadership, brilliant crisis-management and most caring attitude of Muhyiddin and his Majesty’s government that he has been leading that makes our nation still exemplarily upstanding as a world-class nation in term of managing Covid-19.

“By and large, our people appraised and acknowledged this,” he pointed out.

The Muara Tuang assemblyman therefore urged Anwar and his group to accept that as a fact.

“I would also like to ask this PKR supremo, since when did he and PKR reality fought for the Malays apart from just mere fire-brand, politically charged rhetorics?

“I mean proofs… We need proofs, especially when PH was at the helm of the federal government. I have a list of things that they and DAP, and Amanah did that had ‘hurt’ the Bumiputera including the Malays.

“But I will release it once he or PKR produce a list of things or proofs of what they have delivered for the Bumiputeras including the Malays in Malaya. This is fair isn’t it?” said Idris.
