LINGGA: The close ties among party members reflect the ability of a party to serve the community well, says Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.

“A Ngiling Tikai ceremony like this can strengthen ties, which in turn reflects the cooperation between party members and the community.

“It also symbolises unity,” he said at the Ngiling Tikai ceremony at Rh Charli Ata, organised by the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Lingga Branch on Monday (July 18).

Simanggang SUPP Youth chief Wong Yii Hong and Lingga SUPP chairman Cr Waterkiller James Junit were also present.

Harden expressed his thanks to Lingga SUPP for successfully organising the event.

He also approved an allocation of RM100,000 under the Rural Transformation Project for the longhouse.

A RM10,000 Minor Rural Project grant was given to the Village Development and Security Committee while RM5,000 was given to Rh Charli Ata Women’s Bureau, Kampung Pruan A.
