TATAU: All Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) of villages and longhouses are reminded to strengthen community policing in their respective areas.

Acting Tatau District Officer Calvin Ligong said JKKKs, especially ketua masyarakat and ketua kampung (KMKK), played a role in assisting District Offices to monitor the implementation of community policing.

He said this included ensuring compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) such as maintaining social distancing, hand-washing and so on.

“At this time, social gatherings are not allowed. Also, if a person has Covid-19 symptoms such as fever, he/she should immediately visit the nearest health clinic.”

Calvin said this at an engagement session on strengthening community policing at the JKKK level of longhouses and villages in Tatau District, organised by the Tatau District Office at its premises today.

He also reminded that KMKKs played a role in encouraging longhouse residents to register for the Covid-19 vaccine via MySejahtera.

“For those who do not have MySejahtera, a registration form has been distributed through KMKKs by the District Office. The completed form needs to be sent to the Tatau District Office.”

Calvin said that vaccinations would be done in stages at the vaccination centre located at Tatau Sports Hall.

He said Tatau District Office would continue to engage with KMKKs by holding information sharing sessions related to the immunisation programme from time to time.

The session was attended by 15 persons comprising KMKK representatives, including Pemanca Gerosen Jubin.
