KUCHING: In view of the worsening Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii has urged the people to strictly comply with the standard operating procedure (SOP) and cooperate with the government to curb the spread of the virus.
At the same time, he praised the residents of Sarikei for having complied with the SOP for almost a year.
“Besides that, the community has also cooperated with the government to curb the Covid-19 outbreak,” he said in a statement last Monday (Jan 18).
He noted that the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) had declared that the conditional movement control order (CMCO) would be implemented in all divisions statewide, except in Sibu, where the movement control order (MCO) would be enforced.
He expressed his agreement with the Education Ministry’s decision to postpone the reopening of schools.
Huang also expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and frontliners carrying out their duties to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
