KUCHING: Effective communication between media practitioners and society improves their relationship, enabling deeper and more meaningful interactions.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol said that accurate and verified information was crucial for the public, particularly through efficient communication channels.

“Communication is an integral part of daily life, regardless of the situation,” he said during his appearance on the ‘Selamat Pagi Malaysia’ programme today.

He also spotlighted the vital role of local media, especially Sarawak media professionals, during the three-day celebration of National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) 2024, including those working behind the scenes.

“The public must realise that the roles of media personnel extend beyond what is seen on TV. Behind the scenes, there are crew members, editors, graphic designers, and various other media professionals contributing to the final output,” he added.
