KUCHING: Hope Place recently came to the aid of a family of 12 residing in Kpg Mundai, Padawan, through the provision of food aid, children’s milk powder, and school supplies.

“Jenny Bandang, 36, and her husband Enga, 37, are facing significant financial constrain as they strive to provide for their family of 12, including 10 children.

“Christopher, their eldest at 22, is the sole breadwinner, working as a construction worker,” Hope Place said in a press release issued today (May 2).

However, with four other children still in school and one awaiting exam results, the family’s income falls short.

Enga, who previously worked at a fish pond company, recently lost his job when the company closed down.

While he searches for new employment, he takes on odd jobs in the village to make ends meet. The family relies on the generosity of Enga’s former boss, who provides occasional financial assistance and lends them a car for transportation.

They require approximately five bags of 10kg rice per month to feed their large household, with Jenny constantly worried about having enough food for everyone.

Additionally, they care for four nieces and nephews abandoned by their parents, adding to their responsibilities.

Donations to assist families like Jenny and Enga’s are welcomed by Hope Place. For more information or to contribute, the public may contact them at 082-505987 during their operating hours or visit their Facebook page for donation options.
