Student points ‘gun’ at teacher

MIRI: A male student of a skills training centre in Lutong went berserk after his female teacher asked him about his homework on Tuesday morning.

The boy reportedly took a ‘gun’ from his bag and pointed it at his teacher.

The incident happened around 9.15am during an electronic class session.

The teacher eventually managed to calm down the student before she went to lodge a police report over the incident.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted confirmed receiving a report on the incident.

Lim told that preliminary investigation revealed the gun was a fake.

Police have detained the 22-year-old student for questioning.

The suspect is a final year electronic course student.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 36 of the Arms Act 1960.
