KUCHING: Popular academic courses available at institutions of higher learning here are getting the thumbs-up by many students who prefer to take up the courses locally.

A Swinburne University of Technology graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) Adrian Loh said that the engineering course offered at the university was of high standard and that he would recommend to students with interest in engineering to take up the courses offered by Swinburne.

“Engineering brings good prospects. It is a good path and those who are interested should take up a course at Swinburne.” Adrian said adding that Swinburne Kuching is best known for its engineering courses.

Meanwhile, a practising lawyer and an Edexcel A-Level (Arts) alumni who majored in law at SEGi College Sarawak Joseph Tie said that he took up the programme due to his liking for law.

“My ambition was to become a lawyer and it makes it easy for me to decide to take up the A-Level programme offered by SEGi because it provides me a platform to pursue a law degree.

“I would strongly recommend students who are interested in law to take up the law programme in SEGi,” he enthused.

A current student of Diploma in Animation & Multimedia Design in Limkokwing Institute of Creative Technology, Brandon Lu said that he took up animation course due to his ambition in becoming a manga artist when he was young, which has now changed to becoming an animator instead.

“I was able to learn a lot of in-depth technical skills from the course here in Limkokwing and I would strongly recommend this course to those who are interested in animation.”

John Bernard of the Marketing Team Department in Limkokwing Institute of Creative Technology agreed that the Diploma in Animation & Multimedia Design at the institute was growing in popularity among local students.
