KUCHING: Led by ACP Ibrahim bin Nai Hat, 22 police personnel visited SMK Padawan yesterday. Their mission was to encourage the students to join the police force.

Six hundred students of the school attended the talk on police careers and had fun learning about police work and introduced to the multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) and motorcycles that the police use.

The police personnel also demonstrated how they caught snatch thieves.

The students attended an exhibition on various types of drugs as well and learnt about the dangers of taking them. They were also shown some of the weapons used by criminals.

After delivering the Inspector General of Police’s text of speech, Ibrahim also explained that the purpose of the liaison officer in the school to ensure it was drug-free, safe and to assist in any criminal cases there.

He advised the school to alert the liaison officer immediately if there was any criminal act in the premises.
