KUALA LUMPUR: The first day of competition for wushu today (Sept) delivered the Sarawak Contingent its first medal in Sukma XX.

The Sarawak camp cheered on as wushu athlete Yong Arifah Khairul Kok put on a sterling performance to win bronze in the women’s taijijian event held at Bukit Jalil Gymnasium 2, here.

She scored 9.58 points against Melaka’s Sydney Chin Sy Xuan who scored 9.64 points to win the gold medal.

Meanwhile, Mandy Cebelle Chen won the silver medal with a score of 9.62.
