KUCHING: Two students, who have been offered to study Engineering and English at Cambridge University, United Kingdom, are unable to go due to financial constraints.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chief Wilfred Yap hoped that the state government would assist in the matter, and grant scholarships to the deserving students.

He said the state needed to develop and retain its world-class talents to achieve its dream of becoming a progressive and high-income society.

He has written a letter of appeal on behalf of the duo to the Chief Minister, and hoped that Yayasan Sarawak would grant scholarships or provide financial assistance.

Both students are committed to contribute towards nation building after completion of their studies.
