KUCHING:  Last Friday night, the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Batu Kitang branch threw a Chinese New Year (CNY) dinner at the Padawan Community Hall, Kuching.

Local Goverment and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian officiated at the celebration. Present were Padawan Municipal Council chairman Lo Khere Chiang and organising chairman of the dinner Gerald Goh.

Goh said that the CNY dinner was yet another special festive celebration that brought all the multiracial Sarawakians under one roof.

“Sarawak is home to more than 26 ethnic groups in the state and it is very special as we can literally celebrate any sort of festivities together,” he said.

On hand to entertain the guests were Persatuan Kebudayaan Jasmani dan Sukan Foh San’s Lion Dance Troope and members of the Ching Ying Musical and Dance Academy.
