SIBU: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Branch has submitted to the party’s leadership its nominee for the Bawang Assan seat in the coming state election.

Branch chairman Senator Robert Lau told New Sarawak Tribune on Sunday the party had qualified and experienced members who were ready to serve in whatever capacity.

He said this during a visit to longhouses at Bawang Assan and Bekakap on Sunday.

Lau, who is a former deputy chairman of Sibu Rural District Council, led a group to visit some of the projects carried out by SRDC in the Bawang Assan area.

He said SUPP had been serving the people of Bawang Assan consistently and regularly and not only appeared when an election was near.

Among those in the group were chairman of Sibu Municipal Council Clarence Ting (also SUPP Pelawan Branch chairman) and the newly appointed deputy chairman of SRDC Wong Ching Yong (also SUPP Dudong Branch chairman) and SRDC councillors from GPS component parties.
