KUCHING: In a rare moment of agreement, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Youth secretary-general Milton Foo has blasted PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang Hadi’s call to reject DAP, which he claimed was out to give Chinese control of Sarawak and its wealth.

Foo deemed it as unwarranted and nonsensical, adding: “It is tantamount to an attempt to stir up racial tensions among peaceful and harmonious Sarawakians.”

“What Hadi is trying to do is to split the Bumiputera and Chinese communities in Sarawak. What does he mean when he urged one race to stay united in order to prevent another race from taking control of Sarawak and its wealth? This is blatantly misleading, if not, misconceived,” he slammed.

Foo figured that Hadi had no understanding of Sarawak at all.

“In Sarawak, there is no one race taking control over the other, instead there is practise of wealth sharing regardless of race, religion and background ever since the establishment of the Kingdom of Sarawak in 1841.”

He reminded PAS that they were with DAP in the same alliance during the Pakatan Rakyat era from 2008 to 2015.

He said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg had also made it clear that Sarawak-based coalition GPS preferred to operate on its own rather than join any political pact (Umno-PAS) from Malaya.
