KUCHING: Local football fans have been urged to give their undivided support to both Sarawak FA and Kuching FA teams who will square off in a Premier League play-off match. “Let the best team win. There is no need to create a quarrel between them,” said a local football fan, who only wanted to be identified as Rahman.

He said there was also no need to cook up issues that could create unhappiness among officials, players and fans of both teams.

Of late there have been some statements online discrediting the Sarawak FA team and their officials.

Blaming and condemning Sarawak FA team and attacking the president of Sarawak FA Datuk Posa Majais, including spreading news that there are plots to force Posa’s resignation as FAS president, will not do any good for the state football, Rahman added.

Posa has said that he will not resign until issues effecting FAS, including the court cases on criminal breach of trust (CBT), are solved.

“Posa has been instrumental in doing image control to make FAS a respectable organisation and the teams under it are formidable sides in their respective competititons,” said a FAS official.

The latest negative news about FAS published online was the state team was denied training at the gym, alleging FAS did not pay their rental arrears to the gym centre.
