KUCHING: Sarawakians must continue to unite and support Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) for better development in Sarawak, said Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang.

He stressed that unity was fundamental for continuous development in Sarawak.

“I advise our people to always stand behind GPS because as Sarawakians, we must all stick together,” he told reporters after handing out Kenyalang Gold Cards to senior citizens in the Batu Kitang Constituency at Pusat Penjaja Kampung Haji Baki in Padawan on Monday morning (Aug 10).

Lo pointed out that only GPS leaders would fight for Sarawak rights.

“Petronas has already agreed to pay us the petroleum products sales tax imposed by Sarawak for the year 2019 and I look forward to getting back our autonomy on education and health. These are very important for the future development of our state.

“Under GPS together with the support of the people of Sarawak, we will continue to demand for our rights,” Lo added.

On the emergence of the new coalition parties in the state, he commented that it would only cause chaos.

“I do not want to see our people spilt by our own people.

“There are parties which call themselves Sarawak parties but if we split ourselves from other so- called Sarawak parties, we will never be united.

“And Sarawakians in general will lose out.

“Under the GPS government, Sarawakians are all united because we have good, open minded leaders and that’s important,” said Lo.
