PADAWAN: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has called on the people to continue supporting Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the coming state polls.

The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy president said that GPS leaders were people-oriented, focusing only on leading the people towards better and prosperous life.

He added that the GPS government had implemented various programmes for continuous development of the state and simultaneously increasing the income of the people.

“GPS does not need to make promises because there are so many programmes that have already been planned and implemented.

The most important thing is the people’s support for GPS to ensure our state continues to develop in the future.

“Only GPS can determine a bright future for Sarawak,” he said when officiating at the closing ceremony of Agrotani and Land Development briefing for Tarat constituency at Teng Bukap multipurpose hall here on Sunday.

Uggah added that the GPS government led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg was also concerned about the welfare of the people irrespective of race and religion.

He said this year alone, the chief minister had allocated a total of RM50 million for Unit For Other Religions (Unifor).

“In fact, a lot of help is given to ease the burden of the people while facing the Covid-19 movement control order (PKP),” said Uggah.

In this regard, he hoped that the people in Tarat would continue to elect Datuk Roland Sagah to lead the constituency.

“This is because Sagah is one of the GPS elected representatives who is very committed in helping the people and developing the area.

“He worked very hard, always meeting with the chief minister and me to find ways to develop the area,” he said.
