KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing has called on all Sarawakians to give Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) their full support. “It is my ardent hope that all Sarawakians give their full support to GPS, because for once since independence 55 years ago, we have now full control of our own destiny,” Masing said when asked for his comment on the approval of GPS by the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

“We have, nobody to blame, but ourselves, if we fail to steer Sarawak to greater heights,” he added. Masing, who is also Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president, said his party was all raring to go with the other coalition parties of GPS, namely PBB, Sarawak United Peoples’ party (SUPP) and Progressive Democratic party (PDP), a truly Sarawak –based component parties.

“It (GPS) is a Sarawak boat, made in Sarawak and paddled by Sarawakians with (Chief Minister) Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, the son of one of the originators MA63, as its captain. “The coalition’s secretar ygeneral is Datuk Alex Linggi, the grandson of Tun Jugah, also one of the originators of MA63. We are in good company. “The coalition must now move forward to make its presence felt by all Sarawakians,” he said.
