KUCHING: The public are urged to support efforts by the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry and the industry to uplift the economy of Bumiputera entrepreneurs.
Its minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar expressed hope that the current initiatives done for the purpose will bear fruit and produce successful entrepreneurs from the group.
He was commenting on the efforts done by the Malakat Mall team which tries to gather Bumiputera entrepreneurs through the first Muslim concept shopping mall.
“I am intrigued by their efforts to develop a first Muslim concept shopping mall in Malaysia. I was made to understand that Malakat Mall is now gathering Bumiputera and Cooperative entrepreneurs to help develop the mall.
“This is as well as affording room to them to promote their products,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday (July 11).
Earlier, he received a visit from Persatuan Pengguna Islam Malaysia (PPIM) chief activist Datuk Nadzim Johan, business coach Fadzil Hashim and the rest of the Malakat Mall management team.
Among the issues discussed were their collaboration with the ministry, methods to resolve problems faced by small medium enterprise (SME) entrepreneurs, cooperatives entrepreneurs and the consumers.
“I hope that the efforts done to gather the Bumiputera entrepreneurs will bear fruit. This is a strategic effort to uplift their economy and should be supported by all quarters,” he said.
