KUCHING: Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle, possibly a four-wheel drive vehicle, involved in last Tuesday night’s hit-and-run accident which took the life of a motorcyclist.

The accident happened about 9pm near Kpg Jampari, Jln Lundu-Sematan.

The body Bong Nyong Poh, 45, from Kampung Sebriris in Lundu was found by a passer-by.

When an ambulance arrived at the scene Bong was pronounced dead by a medic. He had head injuries.

Police who investigated that case believed that Bong was hit by a heavy vehicle.

An eye witness claimed to have seen the accident but could not see the number of the vehicle which was speeding off from the scene.

Traffic police chief, Alexson Naga Chabu, urged those who have information about the vehicle to come forward.

He said the area was dark and it was raining at the time of the accident.

Initial investigation revealed that the deceased’s motorcycle was hit from behind.

The case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
