KUCHING: A car and a motorcycle were destroyed in a fire while another was damaged Monday morning (Feb 15).

The incident happened at Taman Seng Goon Garden at 2.07am and firefighters from Batu Lintang and Tabuan Jaya were deployed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the team confirmed that the fire happened at the car porch of the two houses and the distance between the vehicles is about 300 metres.

A sports utility vehicle and a motorcycle in the first house were destroyed in the fire and the car porch’s ceiling was 20 percent damaged.

Meanwhile, another car in the next house was 60 percent damaged and the car porch’s ceiling was 15 percent damaged.

The firemen managed to extinguish the flames and the operation ended at 3.12am.

The occupants of both houses were safe and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
