Press statement from Signature Wealth Advisory Group (SWAG).

KUCHING: The management of Signature Wealth Advisory Group (SWAG) had apologised for causing the emergence of a Covid-19 cluster in the state recently.

“We understand that this apology is long delayed, regardless, please allow us to express our sincere apologies for the incident of this new infection group.

“We understand that no number of apologies would undo the harm and dangers that have been caused. We also believe that everyone has seen and received relevant news and information regarding this, and for that, we want to do our best to take responsibility,” it said in a Facebook post on Friday (April 23).

They said that since this week, they have been closely cooperating with the Ministry of Health (MoH) to confirm the location and number of people to minimise the damage.

“However, we failed to update on social media and announce this breach of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and mistake,” it said.

They said that it has notified all colleagues, partners, friends and family members that have been contacted as soon as possible, and all had conducted their swab test the soonest possible after being notified.

“We are at fault and we are to be blamed for the cluster. It is true that one of the bosses obtained approval from the authorities to return back to Kuching from Kuala Lumpur for three days and two nights before attending the dinner.

“It is true, these are all the facts. Moreover, more precaution should have been taken despite the approval from authorities and the swab test which the result was negative before the flight.

“However, we have no intention of pushing the blame towards others, we only had suspicions of how it had spread and after further investigation we believe that it was from the close contact there. Admittedly, further breach of SOPs had happened there as well,” it said.

The group said that they have failed to follow the SOPs which can be seen from the photos that have been circulated on the Internet.

“Moreover, all names and other personnel were listed and handed to the authorities who will take further action.

“Once again, we deeply apologise for all inconvenience caused,” it said.
